Wear-Pink-Masthead

Once again, Diamond Delivery is pround to support the Pink Shirt Anti-Bullying program on Wed. April 14. In the fall of 2007, two young men became aware of a grade 9 student who had been bullied for wearing a pink polo shirt to school. Instead of retaliating with violence, these remarkable young men went to their local dollar store and purchased 50 pink shirts, distributing them to their high school friends to wear in a show of solidarity to the young man who was bullied. This simple act of kindness garnered the attention of many, including Christy Clark, who was inspired to find a way to leverage their actions into something bigger, and “Pink Shirt Day” was born!

Each year more organizations are becoming involved including Boys and Girls clubs. media stations and governments. For more information on how you can get involved, visit their website at http://www.pinkshirtday.ca

Curtis climbing his playhouse

In March, Diamond delivered a playhouse to Curtis of Hudson’s Hope (west of Fort St. John) on behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of BC and Yukon. Once the ground was thawed, it was erected on May 29 by 10 local firefighters who enjoyed the company of Curtis’ friends and family in a BBQ.

Mom reported, “The playground assembly went well and Curtis was smiling ear to ear (as were all the other kids waiting to get on).”
